ballon rouge

I don't know how to write a review -- except for food.
Bari
It was dawn in a quiet village.
A girl was still curling on her bed.
The sun peaked between the curtain.
As it raised, shined on her face.
She got out from her bed, stood by the window.
Outside, a farmer walked to the rice field.
With his buffalos.
She watched quietly.
In the kitchen, her mother was grinding spices for a meal.
Farmer on the fields.
Buffaloes were ploughing the ground.
Water reflected the sun.
Farmer took an afternoon break.
Had his lunch in a hut.
Hummed a song to his buffalos.
Of the life he knew.
And the sunset took them home.

Vulnerable
A young lady looking out the window.
Thinking of her past beau.
It ended sad.
Why did it have to be this way?
Perhaps it was for the best.
An endearing one sneaked up.
When he whispered sweet nothings to her.
His breath caressed her neck.
Made her heart raced.
It is over...
but there will be more to come.
Why couldn't I be with him?
Perhaps it was for the best.

Kora
Birds hopped from one branch to another.
Buffalo passed through the ground path.
A boy sat on its back playing his bamboo flute.
He swayed left and right as the buffalo walked.
The sun rose higher.
Market had started.. hingar bingar.. tawar menawar..
Ladies walked to and fro with their basket filling up with fresh produce.
Went home to their children.
Played skipping stones in the afternoon.
skip skip they went..
Young boy swang on a hammock..
His buffalo whipped its tail..
Or so it goes...

It is time to think.
Plan step by step.
Left and right.
Reaching maturity.
Acting the outline.
Starts just fine.
step 2...
Have a faith.
Enjoying the path.
Get a grip.
Holding on.
Have a pleasure.

I like this one for strolling down the street at nite.
It has the up and down of New York life.

Here is a review from a friend - a long time Messiaen follower:
