quelques histoires courtes

Checking on some friends from high school.
Vivi is now 6 months pregnant.

In the meantime, I was chatting up with Capung.
She was upset that one of our friends from high school deliberately using her email to vote for himself to win a contest.
You can report him to the website as a fraud.
No, it's fine. It just annoyed me he didn't ask for my permission.
Anyway, I went to check out the site and the person involved.
It was pathetic, but after seeing his picture, I kinda felt sorry.. perhaps he did need the vote, but he could always do so correctly.
I'm sure none of us mind to vote for him...

On the lighter note, it is my best friend's, Ingrid, b-day!
Happy Birthday, Inge!!!
All the best, babe!

At the end of the day I decided to take a bath.
Apart from a slight disturbance from TV, bath was gooooooood~

p.s. for those who hate scrubbing the tub, CLR is the magic solution! For once, I didn't miss having a boyfriend! :)

un cauchemar

My late grandma and my brother came to visit.
We cruised around the city and stuff...
After that we all splitted to our own destination.
I went back to the apartment.

Something bizarre happened when I took the elevator.
The door wouldn't close, but it was moving up.
I had a glimpse of 2nd Floor when the lights flickered.
Then the cart moved downward fast!
It passed the basement to just dark hole.
I started panicking, pushed buttons, there was no help.
Finally, I pressed the rubber sole against the wall and it stopped.
Looked to see if the phone would work, no bar... I was too far underground.
Raised the cart a couple steps up in search for a signal.
Called the doorman.
"Gene, the elevator is malfunctioning...
I'm way down passed the basement... help."

Woke up by a terrible dream.
Wore my rubber rain boots to go downstairs...
Just in case~

à propos d'hier soir

Went out to dinner with Shoko and friends at Typhoon in East Village.
Her friend came to visit from SF, a nice and fun girl.
Food and drink was overflowing.
At the end of the night another friend came to join and we hopped to another joint.
I had to bail as my stomach was disagreeable, ehm.. most likely overeat.
Waited for a cab in the rain for half an hour.. none available.
So, I stopped by the grocery, got a medicine, a slice of Green Tea cake, and took the subway home...

un martini s'il te plait!

Started off at Yakiniku West.
I was eating like there was no tomorrow since I had nothing else for the day.

Then hopped to a Spanish joint --was it La Paella East?-- next door for Sangria.
It was a nice outdoor space with a garden and... ehm.. smoking permitted!

Afterwards, the girls wanted to go dancing.
Since it was a mix-crowd, I thought I took them to LES, there were plenty of choices for everybody.
We ended up at Le Père Pinard, sippin' French Martini, smokin' like a chimney, dancin' our ass off.

Closed the nite with a shot of vodka at a friend's (amazing!) place in Greenwich Village...

Need some sleep...
Good nite, New York~

un mannequin

The photo students were swarming the city this weekend.
They were in town for the Photo Expo at Javits.

A friend from college (a photo student, no less) was also here.
She had asked me to be a model for her final project... uh-oh!
After an awkward photo session on the roof, we stayed in, chatted, and waited for everybody to return from work...

le désespoir

When I got up this morning, I had a feeling it was going to be a good day.
The sun was out and it was quite warm for October.

I was chatting up with Lolito who sounded like a Latin Lover, when the phone rang.
The long-awaited call from the station.
It was a good news!
Went to report right away.
Although at the end of the day I was a little giddy.
I wonder if one can relies on one's memory (a month later) after a 10-minutes encounter?
Couldn't say I was 100% sure.. especially when it involved somebody else's future.
But under an extreme pressure, would one be desperate enough to point a finger to release tension?
Hmm.. I certainly did not, do not, and will not be the second one!

What would you do?

raffiniert? ich denke nicht

les questions graves

3 ans à Chelsea ne signifie rien!
mon gaydar ne fonctionne pas...

Abi was having a crisis with her project.
So, I was on and off the phone the whole day with her.

Anyway, I had a class today.
I was happy but had to leave early for a "stylist's" dinner."
Left a little perpexled.

There was a classmate who I was wondering whether he was gay or not.

* How so?
Right before I left the class today, he was caressing my blonde tail and said "Ooh, this is really nice. Did you just do it? I love the tail!" He was soft spoken, but he also had a masculin air.
* Definitely gay! A straight man doesn't have the guts to touch your hair!
Hmm.. I'm still unsure. Is there a way to politely ask his sexual preference?
* Only time will tell.
Ah... I'm not sure if I have the patience.
Anybody has any idea?

The dinner with power stylists were held at Minado.
There was nothing special, but a-street-block long Japanese Buffet.
I was just glad to meet the amazing creative group of people.

danke für das sexy weckdienst

un buffle et d'autres matières

Water buffalo came out as a topic of conversation.
It was actually a beautiful creature.
I'd never thought of it that way since they were always bathing in the mud, hence the color was grey.
Lola asked if I'd ridden one before.
I had not, because they were sometimes considered vicious.
But to think about it, if they let little children ride them, then they should be just as sweet and innocent, shouldn't they?
They do have kind eyes...

Other topics:
* Before I forget, I should thank my neighbor for rescuing the Z.
* How to use stencils without bleeding? Anybody has any idea?
* How could somebody born, raised, and still speaks the native language everyday doesn't have any faith on her own country?
If you are so embarassed by your country, perhaps the first step is stop speaking in its language! So, I won't associate you with them anymore.

au secours!

The Z happened to run with a Windows Xp Pro Japanese version.
2 days ago when I started up the iTunes, it offered an update.
I agreed on it and did all the necessary download.
Installed.. but stalled when it tried to install the Quicktime part.

Naturally impatient, I tried to patch things up myself.
It went nose-dive from there..
Did a little research (Sunday afternoon) and tried pretty much all the possibilities..
And there I was... stuck!

It was a little after 4am...
I was feeling hopeless and about to break down in tears...
Just then Geek Squad commercial appeared on TV.
24-hour PC service. Eurêka!
Went to their website...
No matter where you purchased your PC, Agents can help you

Hmm.. the service was actually quite pricey.
I thought why not gave them a chance.

A guy who sounded like a machine -- almost emotionless picked up from the other side..
He asked all the necessary questions and gave me a rate -- Thank God, it wasn't as bad as I thought...
What if in the middle of the guide, I freak out and want to cancel?
Oh no... We will take care of you until we fix it!
I was desperate and willing to believe anything, so I gave him my card number.

I was transferred to the technician -- just as emotionless and gave him a briefing as well.
He started up his pointers...
I didn't want to waste his time and be more frustrated.
So, I said to him: I think the main problem here is that I don't know what to do with the Japanese Xp. Unless you have the same system running in front of you, then we can speak the same language.
He put me on hold.
A few seconds later, he apologized and forwarded me to the refund center.

By the way, I have nothing against Geek Squad.
I was relieved (briefly) to know they were on duty 24-hrs.
But if your OS is originally foreign (e.g. a Japanese), you are as hopeless in this land as I am...

ma mère

I had been thinking of my mom these days, but it was never a good time to call.
Anyway, she called me instead.

Mom told me she was flying off tonite to accompany dad on a trip.
We talked and talked and talked.
My mother as sweet as always...

キラーストリート

At last, the long awaited Southern All Stars' album had arrived!
I hadn't had a chance to listen to it yet, due to a technical problem on my iTunes, but they hadn't disappointed me so far.
Their songs usually depicted summer romance by the ocean.

Summer is over...
Romance is questionable...

ballon rouge

I don't know how to write a review -- except for food.
Bari
It was dawn in a quiet village.
A girl was still curling on her bed.
The sun peaked between the curtain.
As it raised, shined on her face.
She got out from her bed, stood by the window.
Outside, a farmer walked to the rice field.
With his buffalos.
She watched quietly.
In the kitchen, her mother was grinding spices for a meal.
Farmer on the fields.
Buffaloes were ploughing the ground.
Water reflected the sun.
Farmer took an afternoon break.
Had his lunch in a hut.
Hummed a song to his buffalos.
Of the life he knew.
And the sunset took them home.

Vulnerable
A young lady looking out the window.
Thinking of her past beau.
It ended sad.
Why did it have to be this way?
Perhaps it was for the best.
An endearing one sneaked up.
When he whispered sweet nothings to her.
His breath caressed her neck.
Made her heart raced.
It is over...
but there will be more to come.
Why couldn't I be with him?
Perhaps it was for the best.

Kora
Birds hopped from one branch to another.
Buffalo passed through the ground path.
A boy sat on its back playing his bamboo flute.
He swayed left and right as the buffalo walked.
The sun rose higher.
Market had started.. hingar bingar.. tawar menawar..
Ladies walked to and fro with their basket filling up with fresh produce.
Went home to their children.
Played skipping stones in the afternoon.
skip skip they went..
Young boy swang on a hammock..
His buffalo whipped its tail..
Or so it goes...

Little bells swivelling through the wind..

It is time to think.
Plan step by step.
Left and right.
Reaching maturity.
Acting the outline.
Starts just fine.
step 2...
Have a faith.
Enjoying the path.
Get a grip.
Holding on.
Have a pleasure.

Huzza Huzza
I like this one for strolling down the street at nite.
It has the up and down of New York life.

Here is a review from a friend - a long time Messiaen follower:
iijan :) kind of abstract stuff, i like such sound ;) thanks! :D

ich fand heraus, warum ich weg von es blieb...
es erinnerte mich an heim...

le laureat

It started like this...
I was playing a movie (star) trivia with Lola the other day.
He told me he recently saw The Constant Gardener.
Then the topics went from Ralph Fiennes - crazy Nazi - Stéphane Audran (of Babettes gæstebud) - Sabina Sciubba..

In the middle of the surf, I found out Anne Bancroft had passed away this past June due to uterine cancer.
As an homage, I rented out The Graduate.
I must say, it was a classy classy classy comedy!
Anne was as ravishing as ever...

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson,
Jesus loves you more than you will know~

hallo wieder!

un début frais

I'm itching for a few days to update my blog.
The little tiger is pushing my head under water.
Eventhough, he was little and far, but he is still a tiger..
And I'm only a kitty..

Eh, let the name dropping begin!

miaow~
